2026 AMLA Scholarship Recipients!

Each year, the AMLA presents scholarships to individuals who are exemplary students—who, in the fraternal spirit, dedicate themselves to achieving good grades and performing service to their community. Each year, the choice is difficult because so many qualified AMLA Members apply.

Congratulations to the AMLA Scholarship Recipients:

The Anna Mae Mannion Memorial Scholarship is presented to:

Emma O’Hearn

Emma O’Hearn graduated from Union Catholic Regional High School with honors. Emma is a member of the National Honors Society and the Spanish National Honors Society. As a student athlete, Emma earned varsity letters in Track and Cross-Country, in which she will continue in the NCAA Division 1. Emma was a volunteer at the IHM Food Pantry, Crayon Club Co-President, and part of the Student Movement Against Cancer. Emma is enrolled at Bucknell University and pursuing a degree in Biology – Pre-health. She hopes to graduate in 2030.

The Joseph A. and Albina M. Abram Memorial Scholarship, sponsored by the Abram Family is presented to:

Anya Stupica

Anya Stupica graduated from Hawken High School and is currently attending the University of Mount Union in pursuit of her bachelor’s degree in accounting and finance with a projected graduation year of 2028. She represents her school on the soccer pitch and has attended the AMLA Children’s Christmas Party and AMLA Family Picnic and Pool Party at Slovenska Pristava.

The Dr. Rudolph M. Susel Memorial Scholarship is presented to:

Andrew Fordyce

Andrew Fordyce graduated from Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin High School and currently attends Bowling Green State University in pursuit of a degree in Music Education. Andrew is a Member of AMLA Lodge 38 – Martha Washington, and attends Lodge Meetings and the AMLA Children’s Christmas Party. He also helped celebrate AMLA Lodge 38’s 100^th anniversary earlier this year. Andrew enjoys playing music on his guitar and marching in a band. He plans to graduate in 2029.

The Senator Frank J. Lausche Memorial Scholarship, sponsored by The Frances & Jane S. Lausche Foundation is presented to:

MacKenzie Skufca

MacKenzie Skufca graduated with honors from Kenston High School, as well as from Michigan State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 2022. Today, MacKenzie is pursuing a Masters of Science in Accounting with a plan to graduate in 2027. MacKenzie has attended AMLA Children’s Christmas Parties, the AMLA Family Picnic and Pool Party, and AMLA Lodge 40’s Evenings at the Cleveland Guardians’ baseball games. She has had internships at Plante Moran and Sherwin Williams. She has volunteered at food banks, animal shelters, and church. She has performed ballet in both high school and college.

Anyone who applied in 2026 for an AMLA Scholarship and did not receive one, is still eligible for a $500 Post-Secondary Educational Grant at the end of this year. Applicants can use their current application and fall semester grades to apply at the Home Office in December. Thank you to all who participated!

These Scholarships and Grants are given to qualified AMLA Members. Membership comes with the purchase of an AMLA Policy.
